The Human Side of Business

Ruth Kelly

Interview tips from Laura Appleton of Arc’teryx

Preview of Laura’s interview

Laura Appleton is the reason I moved my whole family – husband, three kids and two cats, from the UK to Vancouver Canada! My telephone interview (zoom hadn’t been invented back then!) with Laura was such a unique, fun, genuine experience, that I wanted to know more about working for a company that produced such great leaders! The company I hadn’t heard of, that she was persuading me to join, was none other than lululemon! As an experienced global recruiter and people person, Laura certainly knows how to get the best out of candidates and put them at their ease.

Recently I listened to Laura sharing her story and insights with Eleven Eleven Talent Collective – as part of their podcasts – The Human Side of Business. I was enthralled – and learnt so much despite having known Laura for quite some time!

Laura who is now Senior Manager of People and Talent at Arc’teryx has invaluable and unique points and thoughts for candidates preparing for interviews – how to be human and have some fun along the way! You never know, along with help preparing for your next interview, she might inspire you to take up a career in recruitment!
