THE SSACHS BRAND STORY

A friendship of Designer and Photographer led to an idea to create a magazine to inspire conversation and celebrate the dynamic and colourful world of sportswear design. Design veteran Soudi Masouleh and Photographer Anil IItas invited former Nike colleague, Product Strategist Diane Richardson to come onboard and explore creating a sportswear design publication, SSACHS.

Soudi and Anil traveled to Scotland for an off-site meeting with Diane to map out their business plan. SSACHS is an abbreviation for the Trossachs which coincidentally was named after a street address in the south of England and a realisation that the kitchen table being used for planning the new business was located on the edge of the actual Trossachs in Scotland. The name stuck!

A chance encounter over Linkedin introduced materials expert Ruth Kelly-  former Lululemon, to complete the team. Since then, like most ideas, the business has twisted, turned and grown some seriously strong legs and 2 years on, SSACHS has channelled its industry network to become the destination for sportswear and active lifestyle brand design.

Our digital platform is SSACHS.CO – We are unique in that, we are the ONLY sportswear design specific industry magazine, for any brand wanting to get their message across to the people who matter. From established brands through to new arrivals in the marketplace, from mill and fibre producers through to manufacturers, we provide a home for sports related businesses to connect with each other and introduce themselves to this targeted audience.

SSACHS creates for its readers the inside story and opinion on the performance & activewear community from design to finish line. Comprehensive sections including DESIGN and MATERIALS balance early conceptual design ideas through to the creation of the finished product which evokes conversation around innovation and industry technological advancements, if you like, the ‘how’ and the ‘why’ at every stage. We connect the dots throughout the supply chain guiding you from design to finish line.   SSACHS supports emerging brands via the section PLAYTIME telling Founder and brand stories. We then come full circle with Athlete interviews, the folks wearing sportswear who inform our creative audience of the real time features and benefits of their kit.

The SSACHS Futures initiative is our give back to the industry and has been designed to showcase the future champions of the industry. With the emergence of sportswear design specific courses, we engage with the university lecturers and students to inspire conversation and give them a platform to showcase their early years talent.

With over 20 years in the industry working both in-house and freelance, the team subsequently identified an opportunity to combine the magazine with their consulting services. By championing the talent in the industry and promoting them through the magazine, they soon realised conversations were flowing about the needs of the brands so SSACHS SERVICES was born to fully support brands of all sizes ‘from design to finish line’. 

Our team of trusted experts do not work under one roof.  We are nimble, cost effective and not dictated by location.  Over the last decade, we have learnt to work as an extension of our clients team, understanding their needs; vision, creative aspiration, business objectives, key markets and consumer. We fill the gap of expertise and time.

Located in the UK and Canada, SSACHS has grown its diverse design talent network to cover all areas from strategic brand direction and strategy through to design, product development and sourcing. Emerging brands get the ‘big brand’ expertise, and established brands receive the resource without disruption to their in-house teams.  Simply put, we strive to reduce complexity for brands wishing to grow their business through the creation of new product or brand direction opportunities.

We want to challenge the suggestion that a creative design agency team experience has to be under one roof. Talented Designers are simply not based in one city.
